Build Log / 01
Building the physical prototype.

Moving away from screens to map the friction manually.

Astrolobe Fully Assembled Painted Ring

Phase 01: Mapping

Wood over pixels.

The goal is to physically set the chart. A screen updates dynamically. A piece of wood stays exactly where you put it.

First, the geometry requires absolute precision. Hand-drawn guidelines dictate the cuts before the laser slices the core structure.

Phase 02: Assembly

The dividers create the boundaries. They have to interlock and rotate freely above the base plate.

The tension goes from a 2D circle to a 3D arena. The profile angle reveals the stacked structure containing the 12 zones.

A tangible object.

The rotating zodiac outer ring receives its final treatment. Painting the boundaries gives the astrological forces a solid form.
